Finding Quiet Amidst The Noise

Do you ever find yourself drawn to water?  This weekend I felt that pull so I took a trip to one of my favorite spots (Great Falls National Park).

I'm so used to venturing out during the week that I'd forgotten just how busy weekends can be.  There were so many people that at first it was like an assault on my senses and I was struggling to find quiet in amongst the noise.

As I took in the sights and walked some of the trails the noise eventually subsided and I found myself in tune with the more soothing sounds of nature.

The weather was so beautiful and as I lost myself in the woods I felt my surroundings embracing me like a old friend.

I love days like this and really should venture out more often.  What fun and exciting things did you get up to this weekend?

  1. Those are awesome photos. It looks so relaxing.
I must say I had a very busy weekend. Sewing and cardmaking. Chores around the house and running errands.
But...I am looking forward to some much needed rest and relaxation soon.

  3. Oh so beautiful! What an amazing place!
Well, my weekend was all about cleaning and reordering after our trip to England. And catching up with everything!
Thanks for your nice comments, they were much appreciated! I do have lace curtains all over my home, it's why I noticed it ;) When I purchased that lace to make them, all the women at the shop were quite shocked- it's bridal lace, but I got it at bargain price, so I bought 35 metres of it!! they were curious to know what it was for, and they said they had never heard anyone using bridal lace for curtains ;))
Have a terrific rest of the week,
    Monicax.

  4. What an incredible place. I HAVE to have the sound of water nearby...it's the only thing that reminds, or rather creates immediate calm where I hadn't known there was tension...do you know what I mean? I live by a lake but still built a pond with a bubbler in the backyard where I could hear it to fall asleep by. I think it's something to do with ions in the air but the sound....mmmm. Thanks for the lovely pictures.

  5. Love the photos Kathryn. I think I can hear the water. I have a CD I'm going to send you that has sound recording of the water of Lake Superior. I listen to it when I get homesick for the water. I'm sorry I missed your birthday. I hope you had a great day.
