For me self doubt is like an unwelcome guest that likes to show up at the most inopportune times. This week I felt its hand in mine as it walked alongside me, making me question everything.
All too often it stops me dead in my tracks but as it leans more and more heavily on me I tire of it's pull and find myself quickening my pace. Looking tentatively over my shoulder I see it trailing behind in the dust, getting further and further away.
I know that over time it will catch back up, but I hope to be able to out run it when it does.
Yes, I know exactly what you're talking about.
ReplyDeleteBut over the years I've learnt to just not listen to it!
Can't say it is working 100% of the time but I'm getting better... :)
It's the rare soul that doesn't question themselves occasionally. Those that are successful are the ones that, like you, manage to stay a few paces ahead of their doubts and regain their sense of self-confidence. :)
ReplyDeleteI think your post about this "nuisance" is most timely as we all encounter those moments when we wonder about our own self worth.
self doubt? all the time. and when I feel it sneaking up I know it's time to put my head down and pick up speed. Sometimes it works and some times it doesn't. When it tackles me and I'm aware and present enough grounding myself always helps. Well that and a good old healthy self pep talk.
ReplyDeleteHere's to out witting and out running our doubts!!
ReplyDeletei soo know what you mean, but I have to try and ignore it and keep moving:O)
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone for all your wonderful comments . . . seems 'self doubt' is a frequent visitor amongst us. Here's to banishing it when it appears.
ReplyDeleteI am asking same question myself all the time, I ca not do anything about it. You are great, Kathryn, so don't think about it :)
ReplyDeleteAaah thanks Tanya.
ReplyDeleteI feel like this more often than I care to admit....I don't like it either!
