Bitten By The Cleaning Bug

I was bitten by the cleaning bug earlier this week and have spent days doing a major blitz on the house, not just cleaning but reorganizing and sorting out as I went along. 

Summer clothes were packed away, winter clothes were rediscovered, closets were organized, and bags filled with items for goodwill.

I even decided to move furniture around.  I used to rearrange furniture all the time but less so now (something I think my husband's thankful for).

I also spent time cleaning up my painting area . . . . .

. . . . . and managed to add some new items to my shop too.

A Peek Inside My Craft Room

Do you remember a few posts ago I talked about my crazy decision to clean out my craft room?  You can see the before photos here.

Now that I finally got everything organized and squared away I thought you might like to see these 'after' shots.

This ikea unit and the black cd boxes are favorites of mine, they're great storage solutions.

I spend a lot of time on my computer so this is where you can find me managing my etsy shop, editing photos and blogging.

The desk on the right hand side is where I create jewelry or other small projects.

 

I love my bead board.  It was an inexpensive way for me to store all my beads and to see at a glance what I have.

I have to confess that it's not usually this clean and tidy.  I'm left wondering how long it will stay tidy for this time.

As the rain beats heavily against the window panes a weariness washes over me as I watch my own tiredness dance in the shadows.

Finding Quiet Amidst The Noise

Do you ever find yourself drawn to water?  This weekend I felt that pull so I took a trip to one of my favorite spots (Great Falls National Park).

I'm so used to venturing out during the week that I'd forgotten just how busy weekends can be.  There were so many people that at first it was like an assault on my senses and I was struggling to find quiet in amongst the noise.

As I took in the sights and walked some of the trails the noise eventually subsided and I found myself in tune with the more soothing sounds of nature.

The weather was so beautiful and as I lost myself in the woods I felt my surroundings embracing me like a old friend.

I love days like this and really should venture out more often.  What fun and exciting things did you get up to this weekend?
