This piece was created in response to the prompt FEAR. The heart hanging from a tree limb expresses a vulnerability and fear that comes from giving and receiving love.
When I saw this just as a photo on FB I had an immediate emotional response to it. It literally tugged at my heart. Now, that I see what prompted you to create it, I completely understand my own response. Love is a funny thing... it is supposed to bring joy which for me is the opposite of fear. Yet when we are opening ourselves up completely to receive it (love), for me fear is one of the first things I feel until it *is* finally reassured with love which then brings joy.
Very striking piece! I wonder why it's so hard to give and receive love? I believe the world would be a much better place if we could let love flow more easily.
Thanks everyone for all your lovely comments. I don't usually create in response to a prompt so this was an interesting challenge but I was pleased with the results. It's one of my personal favorites.
Beautiful piece! With love, you do take a chance and it is always great when it pays off.
ReplyDeleteThanks Shelley, you're so right about it paying off when you take a chance.
