Linking with James for this weeks Weekend Reflections. I've even managed to get my sister to join in the fun, her weekend reflection can be found here. Please feel free to stop by her blog and show her some love.
Image taken crossing the border from Maryland to Virginia
At one time or another each of us finds ourselves faced with a bridge to cross, whether metaphorically or physically. What I love about this shot is the multiple layers and all that it conveys.
very graphic! great catch!
ReplyDeleteTerrific capture for the day! I love the many overlapping shadows. Does remind one of the complexities of life sometimes! Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia

ReplyDeleteVery intricate image and beautifully composed. I do not even want to know how you managed that shot but assume that no one was hurt - hah!
ReplyDeleteOff to visit your sister's blog.

Great composition - it's kind of abstract but manages to suggest a
ReplyDeletestory too.
An excellent shot. I really like it in B&W.
ReplyDeleteWise choice, the black and white on that geometrical composition... It is really a nice picture.

I would never think to catch a reflection on my truck -- it's way too dirty!
ReplyDeleteGreat composition. :)

ReplyDeleteLovely lines here, Kathryn!
ReplyDeleteThe more I see this picture, the more I like it!
ReplyDeleteI just followed you!
Thanks Erin, linking to 'Weekend Reflections' has encouraged me to see things I wasn't focusing on before.
ReplyDeleteBridges-they can be breathtaking, and they can take your breath away. Some make me hesitate. Others, I want to stroll slowly across. Some lead to mystery, others to the unknown....
ReplyDeleteYou know what I mean?
Going to visit your sister now
Love the lines and reflections and the contrast between some hard edges that are completely in focus and then the softness of the other lines. Also, love the black and white. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane, I loved the contrast between the hard and soft too.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photo! Thanks for sharing! I'll head over to your sister's blog too!
ReplyDeleteI love your work. the joy shows.
ReplyDeleteThanks deirdre.
ReplyDeleteoh, those bridges to cross. they seem to pop up too frequently sometimes and often make me feel like cement has been tied to my feet while walking them.

Great shot -- that bridge looks very familiar...it wouldn't be the Point of Rocks bridge, would it? (That's the only covered bridge I can think of btw MD and VA... I think we may be neighbors! : )
ReplyDeleteJessica, yes it is. My husband commutes into Bethesda each day from Point of Rocks train station.
