Animals and insects have this uncanny ability to make me laugh, especially with some of the poses that they strike. I love that this prompt encouraged me to look back through my old photos and have a good giggle all over again . . . . .
Praying mantis usually scare me but I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this guy doing what can only be described as some kind of irish jig!
Then there was this Elk expressing her feelings on motherhood . . . . .
and this deer who clearly had something to say . . . . .
. . . but the ones who continue to make me laugh day in and day out are my two boys!
Who or what makes you laugh and why?
Hey Kathryn...your post has made me laugh. I love it. I remember that praying mantis pic-so unusual. Your cats look like fun.
ReplyDeleteI will have to think about what made me laugh this year. I think it might have been times with my friends "the Bubbas"....we all call each other Bubba and speak in Bubba-ese. Thanks for posing the question.
These are all great :^) Often what makes me laugh is word play, or just silly crazy off-the-wall points of view. I am kind of an odd fellow, so odd things make me smile too :^)
ReplyDeleteAwww this is so cute! Now -that- made me laugh today too!
ReplyDeleteKathryn,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smiles and giggles this morning - you have certainly captured nature's funny expressions.
Oh the first thing that comes to mind . . . this weekend, I said "cheese" to a horse and well, got quite a funny look from him. I'll have to post it sometime - my kids thought I was crazy, but It gave me quite the belly laugh.
ReplyDeleteI love that jig! haha
same here! your tiger stripe kitty looks much like mine!
ReplyDeletei always say i keep pets for the free entertainment...although in the end, it's not exactly free... but they are just so funny!
Certainly my dogs make me laugh along with my husband and lots of other people and things. Speaking of husband he came along as I was admiring your praying mantis photo and we can't agree which part is his eye - he says the top dark area and I say the slanting dark area under the green. Are we both wrong?
ReplyDeleteI just read all of your Reverb11 posts and feel like I just had dessert. I smiled, laughed, completely related to your word for 2011. Your work is so beautiful, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI so love that deer shot! I so do get a chuckle out of my outdoor critters, the chipmunks, squirrels, birdies ... they all have behaviors and antics that just delight me!
ReplyDeleteThese are hilarious. Thanks for the smile.
