Old Man Winter

Old Man Winter gave us a twirl of his cloak this weekend and left behind a blanket of crisp white snow.

While I chose to stay nice and warm inside a group of deer were outside foraging.

The young buck looked so beautiful.  I'm sure he's going to be a stunner when he gets older.

It's extremely icy and foggy here this morning.  Not quite the Monday I was hoping for, especially as I have to venture out.

So did you get a visit from Old Man Winter this weekend?

  1. Old man winter is definitely making an appearance here today. We got a mix of freezing rain and light snow yesterday. Today the freezing rain is back and the snow is a little heavier, but we aren't expected to get much in terms of accumulation. At least we'll have a thin blanket of white to cover up the brown grass. I haven't seen many deer this fall / winter so thanks for sharing your pics.

    1. We seem to have the freezing rain here today today together with some pretty depressing heavy grey fog. I don't mind the cold but I prefer it with a dose of sunshine!

  2. Kathryn - I like the idea of old man winter twirling his cape - such a great mental image. And yes, we received our first real taste of winter this season over the weekend - about 5 inches fell overnight on Friday. Today is warmer and rainy - so all that beautiful white will soon turn to gray mush.

    1. Miserable here today. Super foggy and it's trying to rain but it's just making everything super icy.

  3. Oh Kathryn, these are so great, and while I hate driving and shoveling snow I sure wish I could take photos of it! Love that second one of them disappearing into the woods, just beautiful!

  4. Love seeing these little guys! Great captures. As you know, I headed south ... hear it's all foggy up there today. But at least a bit warmer.

  5. The beautiful snow we got this weekend has melted and disappeared. And - I just love these sweet images of the doe.
