I know a lot of you aren't squirrel lovers but my heart goes out to this poor little guy who seems to be missing a large portion of his fur. When I searched for reasons online it appears it could be the result of a fungal infection or mange.
Each time the temperature dips below zero I worry about him. I have the urge to tuck him up in a warm blanket or knit him a warm jacket.
When he didn't show up for two days I feared that something had happened to him.
But then yesterday there he was, my mate Archibald. He may not be the prettiest squirrel but I love how he rocks being different.
Awww, poor guy. He must be so cold, makes ya just want to cuddle him! ; )
ReplyDeleteOhhh - such a well-chosen name for the poor little guy. Glad to see that he is making it in his fur-less condition.
ReplyDeletePoor guy .... I always hate seeing a critter ill or not doing well. Many of my finches have that fatal eye disease. So wish I could give them eye drops to cure them ...
ReplyDeleteWas never a squirrel fan myself until the Rally Squirrel led the St. Louis Cardinals to win the World Series this year! :)
ReplyDeleteBut this Archibald is precious! He does totally rock for being different.
Your photos capture him wonderfully!
Reminds me of a duck I named "Broken Beak" because his top and bottom of his beak overlapped diagonally...always worried about him, too, when I hadn't seen him in a few days. But he seemed to lead the pack of ducks!
All the best,
Mary

Ohhhh, little trouper. I wish I could put him in my pocket until spring comes.
ReplyDeleteAwwww....little Archibald is a sweetie! Hopefully he has some place warm to snuggle when it is cooler outside. Cute!
