Of all the images I took in January this was the one I felt a special connection to. The kind of image that makes your heart skip a beat when it comes into focus at the end of your lens.
It spoke of so many things . . . the fragility of life, the inevitability of death. Of hanging on when the going gets tough, of love and hope, of security, of vunerability and of connectedness.
Tell me what do you see when you look at this image?
Absolute exquisite beauty!! Yes - I can see how and why you connected especially to this one!
ReplyDeleteIt's heart shaped, which first struck me... then the seeds speak of renewal.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, Kathryn. I can see why you love it so much. :)
Kathryn - I see a heart-shape, with the seeds of all desires and wisdom and memories and golden light. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove that Brenda . . . you see things so beautifully.
DeleteI see all of those same things - what a wonderful image! Fragility, and strength, combined. It is great to have you joining in the Photo-Heart Connection, and I've seen you visiting the other participants. Thanks for helping to build the community too!

Thanks Esra, I get tenderness from it too.
DeleteThis is just stunning, the simplicity, and yet the complication of mother nature, the hanging on by a thread, and yet the hope of new life from the seeds. I can see why it was one of your favorites. The story it holds is just amazing.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful shot. It looks like something very precious to me. The shape and tones are gorgeous, great capture.
ReplyDeleteOh, I see all those things too Kathryn - and I immediately saw a heart shape as if the seeds were being held with love until it was time for them to let go. Beautiful!!

ReplyDeleteI see you Kathryn. Your beautiful heart, your grace, the seeds of potential and a bright future, your determination to hang on to the positive things in life in the face of physical pain that sometimes makes holding on a tenuous endeavor and your beautiful, beautiful spirit.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful words Jane, you almost made me cry. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
DeleteI see a reminder that we all too often walk right past beauty, especially the beauty that is so unassuming. I see a reminder to pay attention, to really look, and really see. I love the softeness and tones of this shot...lovely!
ReplyDeletePaula - it really is all to easy to walk right past beauty. I was so glad I chose to see that day.
DeleteAh yes... everything you mentioned, plus the golden lining in all this grey...

Beautiful shot and words. Although I see death approaching, held off only by a thin connection, I see hope in the seeds held within. The final letting go will free those seeds and thus the cycle will continue. Again, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI am in such awe of everything I keep seeing here.
ReplyDeleteMy jaw is bruised now from hitting the floor so many times.
This is such a beautiful image. I see protectiveness. A guarding of something most precious.
