Photo Heart Connection: December

The end of the year always brings cause for reflection, for looking back at what has been and identifying intentions for the coming year.

Like many of you my experience of 2012 has been a mixed bag with plenty of highs and lows to keep me guessing . . . . . there's been pain and relief, disappointment and opportunities, tears and laughter, despair and hope, stagnant situations and change, creative blocks and inspiration but mostly it's been a period of transition.

My wish for the coming year is that all our lows become just blips on the radar while the highs find that perfect tail wind to make them truly soar.

What highs and lows have you experienced this year?

Linking with Kat for this months' Photo Heart Connection.

  4. Yes, all we need is that tail wind. Here's to soaring, open-armed into 2013. Happy new year xoxo

  6. Your images perfectly capture this time of year - that process of reflection that comes with the ending of one year and the beginning of another.

  7. Lovely peaceful images, I especially like the first one. Most years have highs and lows I find. The lows are not so much fun in the moment, but it is they who have help us to move forward the best.

    1. Sandra, that's so very true. Without the lows the highs wouldn't have quite the same joy to them. Wishing you the very best as we move into 2013.

  8. At the time the lows aren't much fun, but they sure help us know when we are in the highs. I think you had a year like my 2007-8, I don't think anything else could have gone wrong that year....those reflections look just like glass, beautiful!

Wishing you a year not like you had last year!! xo

  10. Such lovely winter images, with great reflections. Last month was filled with lows and highs, but overall life was and still is pretty good. I agree that all those ups and downs make us better people.

  13. I live halfway up a hill. If I walk out of my house and walk up the hill then I am high. If I walk down the hill to the bottom then I am low.

These are my highs and lows.

    Does going upstairs count too?

    :o)

    1. I'll give you the hill Chris but not the stairs. What's that nursery rhyme (something about 10,000 men that goes 'and when they were up they were up and when they were down they were down, and when they were only half way up they were neither up nor down'? :0)

  14. Reflections! Gorgeous. Perfect kind of images for December when we think over what the last 12 months have meant.
Negative blips, positive mountains. That would be so ideal. Where do we sign up for that?
    Happy New Year my friend.

  16. Love your reflections - here and in the image. Life is all about the ups and downs I guess - my constant prayer is that I get better at dealing with the downs! Wishing you a joyful 2013 with the ups 'in the tail wind' (love how you described that!).

  17. 2012, a year of highs and lows without the highs for me. I am so happy to be starting over. I have joined a new meme, Kats PHC, and am making some new connections, what a great way to start a new year. Your pictures are beautiful, so pleased to have met you here.

  18. love the uprooted tree and its reflection. love the silver and copper colors. i guess even losing your footing/ being pulled out of your inertia by the roots has its own kind of beauty, somehow we have to learn how to appreciate it :-())))
