thwack, thwack, thwack
like a cold hard slap
the rain wakes me
the wind howls
I listen intently
its message incoherent
my vision blurred
by water soaked windows
yet I rub my eyes
at four in the morning
a cat purrs loudly
as I sleepwalk into the day
What an amazing image. I love the blur.
ReplyDeleteI must have been keeping you company, because my cough had me awake at 4 am as well. I still feel blurry.
Sorry to hear that . . . hope your day gets clearer as it goes on.
DeleteThanks. Boston is on lock down. Scary stuff. We're out of the city, but still, that's our city.
Deletebeautiful image and words to go along ...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - both words and image - you have evoked that night time waking feeling.
ReplyDeleteWow. I love both parts of this and don't think I could choose between them :-)
ReplyDeleteMagical - both words and image.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want to do it every day, but there is something magical about being up at that time of day. Love the photo!
ReplyDeleteKathryn: I'm connecting to you through the Art Blog Hop. You have great content. I love that you include poems with your images.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, KCW
