Many of you are used to seeing my artwork in its finished form but today I wanted to share a peek into what goes on behind the scenes.
I'm pretty heavy handed with the brushes and tools I use to create my art and I love to get messy . . .
You know I'm all about the texture so here's a glimpse at what's on my table right now.
Work in progress . . . . .
My office table . . . . .
Storage and mailing supplies . . . . .
I love to have artwork up on the walls in my studio.. A few pieces are my own . . . . .
. . . . . but a lot of it is work by other artists whose work I love and admire and objects I've found myself drawn to.
I hope you've enjoyed your visit. Won't you join me in stopping by Seth Apter's blog The Altered Page where you can explore the unedited version of many other artists studios.
goodness, your cat looks just like my Maggie except yours is thinner. Love your studio!
ReplyDeleteHad to laugh at the cat reference, he's got quite the pouch on him. Thanks for the studio love.
DeleteWhat a wonderful studio you have! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Annie. :)
DeleteGreat insight into your studio.. and how great to have a cat there :-) Hope there's no problem with fur in the paint
ReplyDeleteBjorn, we have two cats and two dogs. Sometimes the dogs will visit and lay under the tables but for the most part they get bored and take themselves off. One of our cats likes to curl up in a chair and the other (as you can see) prefers the window seat. the window seat is his spot so no fur in the paint. :) Thankfully he's happy to hang out there while I paint so no fur problems. :)
DeleteThat's (almost) neat. I'm loving the stuff on your walls....yummo.
ReplyDeleteThat's really a wonderful overview. Love the close-ups of your textures
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful space! I love your work and all those yummy pieces on your walls! Love the color of the walls too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful creative place to visit and to work in. I need to find that Energy Medicine Kit.
ReplyDeleteYour works are stunning.
I love this peak into your studio! Fabulous. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa . . . this blog hop was a reminder that its not all about the finished product but the journey that gets you there.
DeleteGreat studio and I love your work. I am a texture person too. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the texture.

Thanks Felicity
DeleteYou left a comment for me, but apparently my fingertips are chubby. Sigh. I hit delete instead of publish. Thanks for stopping by. I loved the look into your space! You are so beautifully messy!!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteFirst, I want to say how incredibly gifted you are. I love your work, in all its stages. I can tell you are a real artist, because you are able to work on more than one project at a time. I saw a few of the same art books that I have, too. And touring your studio was like visiting an art museum. I'm super impressed and can tell you are quite well organized.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely comment, thank you. My space is usually a lot messier but I recently finished a number of items and had a clear up before starting again. :)
Deletewhat a wonderful tour of an inspiring work space... your work is really lovely as well... love that i have found your blog through the blog hop
ReplyDeleteThank you Tracey, the blog hop has been such fun.
DeleteReally breathtaking - your work and your studio! Loved the glimpses of Vitamin Water and the kitty - two influences which fuel my own creative work all the time. ;0) Your photographs are exquisite. So glad to have discovered your blog through this project!
ReplyDeleteThank you . . . I've been trying to ease off the soda :) Our furry friends are great to have around. Thanks for the visit.
DeleteWow, fabulous work and a most lovely studio. Cute dogs too. xox
ReplyDeleteThank you, got to love our furry friends although the dogs tend to get bored in there and only occasionally hang out by sleeping under the tables.
DeleteThere is something so personal and moving about seeing the space in which an artist creates. Love the textures of your new pieces - I really like the abstract natures of these backgrounds - very, very appealing. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brenda, I really appreciate it. It's usually even more chaotic than this but I recently finished a number of pieces and had a tidy up before initiating a new mess.
DeleteI love it! Thank you for inviting to take a pick in your studio... Love your books - all tools you need: energy, creativity, success, and cat guarding the peace in there...Nice :)xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful space!
ReplyDeletevery impressed! great photos, love the colour & the texture, & the animals.
ReplyDeleteThanks, art, texture and animals . . . life doesn't get much better than that.
Deletecan i feel a little (okay, maybe a lot) envious? i have always wanted a space like that. one day, when i have time to actually do things like that, i guess.... thank you for this peek into your life and your creativity
ReplyDeleteI feel so lucky that I was able to use one of our bedrooms as my studio. It's also nice to be able to shut a door on it too. :)
DeleteWhat fun to have a walk-around in your studio! All those splendid wips, supplies and hanging art are inspiring. Love your cats and dogs too:)
ReplyDeleteSomething I feel is missing in mine is one more shelving unit. I like how you have a low one with pull-out boxes.
Those journal covers are amazing!
Thanks, that shelving unit is from Ikea and has been great for storage. I've had it both horizontal and vertical in different spaces so it's pretty versatile. :)
DeleteReally nice studio space you have there! I love seeing the work in progress, as well as your books and sleeping kitty...
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous space and beautiful work... glad to find you through Seth's links.
