ouch...just cause we throw it away dont mean its not there...denial only works so far...but and acetyline torch might just work...smiles.
A heavy weight to carry & drag ~ I like that blueprint of my dreams ~
Sometimes person just can't get away from things by turning one's back. (I like Brian's idea of using a torch!!)
I liked the torch idea too. :)
Yes - we often turn our back because we are angry or hurt. Just turn around and forgive, let the anger go. (doesn't mean we had to let that person back into our lives) I found that by doing this, it is the only way to find peace. (now I just have a few more people to go… not sure "pride" will let me ;P
Some people are hard to forget
I guess when you've been with someone for 9 years that's true. Even if that was over 14 years ago.
Very effective but painful poem! I can think of a number of situations to which your poem might apply.
I always thought it was a person plaguing my dreams but maybe its my own guilt.
You consistently amaze with the emotional depth of your poems - I stand in awe. Love the visual metaphors you invoke.
Thanks Brenda, your comment blew me away.
Your depth blows me away ....
Ahh, those olde chained anchors, hard to break free from. But it can be done! Thoughts and intention blast them to smithereens! And I so LOVE that cloud photo, a beautiful reminder of the gift of nature and its ever-changing beauty.Lovely spot here. I like your dogs and cats!
