Death Of An Angel

you speak the language of trees
of wind and moon and sky
winged in mysticism and secrets
as guardian, angel of death

ruler of the night, seer of souls
did you foretell your own demise
feathers failing to ward off evil
of the human kind

  1. Really a deep message here. One does really feel that the owl is the ruler of the night & seer of souls. There is always something a bit eerie, for me, about owls.

  2. Poor owls...I don't think they deserve their sinister reputation.

  3. ugh...warding off evil of the human kind...owls have always held mysticism to me...and magic...and we care little for our world...that much is very evident....

  8. Somehow it is unfair they have to put up with such adverse opinions against them. Since they are seldom seen one gets the impression they are not good! Generally true! Nicely Kathryn!

  15. Really think the owls has taken a symbolism of the night --- when in reality the humans are the worst.

  23. The first two lines are my favorites. Always wondered what it would be like to be a bird and have the treetops be your world.
