The Trees Call Us Home

prehistoric knuckles
once dragged the ground
and you wonder what it was like
to walk upright for the very first time

the change in perspective
that would find limbs moving
from branches
to the confines of hand built walls

vertigo replacing contentment
as we long once again
for the giddying heights
of the trees that call us home

  6. What a wonderful art, inspired you for such thoughtful poem.... ~ "walk upright for the first time" - this line builds such imagery in my mind's eye...so all followed words flow at the background of these walking individuals ..lol ; next "the change in perspective" ...and till trees calling home....vertigo - another meaningful word for we often have this condition in figurative meaning when once succeed loosing the balance between reality and fiction....~ refreshing poem :)
