Magical lines in your art and in the poem...fire and water...how to keep balance...I think we do, when spill it out on paper/screen ~ thanks for keeping an eye on me :)x
at least you are willing to swim in it eh? some will get no where near their fears and thus live with them always in their shadows. i love the vividness in the first bit there....
Your words always lay bare the those things that frighten us - and by bringing them out into the open, give us the strength to face them. Love this mix of hot and cold in your image.

ReplyDeleteOh, this is stunning. Reminds me of a repeating dream I USED to have about fire. Your poem ALMOST takes me back into that dream!
ReplyDeleteHow strange is that . . .
DeleteThere was a time when I could no go to sleep. I guess I too was afraid of unconsciousness. I am glad this period is over. Very powerful poem, Kathryn!

ReplyDeleteThe color of the fears.. Swimming through the night... Beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou find me wondering if fear of unconsciousness is worse than unconscious fear itself.
ReplyDeleteStriking image to stir us up this morning.
I like the contrasts between fire and water, life and death.
ReplyDeletePhew! This packs a solid metaphysical punch.
