Photo Heart Connection: March

I sit here struggling to put into words the way March has been full of contradictions but this image goes some way towards illustrating how . . . . .

The words 'beauty', 'art' and 'joy' are barely visible (but there if you chose to see them) for they were hard to come by this month. The play of light and dark represents not only the changing of the seasons but also the shifts in my own mood.  The lightness expresses hope . . . the red pain.  The trees demonstrate strength and the clouds dreams.

What image did you feel a special connection to this month?

Linking up with with Texture Tuesday and Photo Heart Connection.

  1. Oh, I can definitely relate to the contradictions of March. I love the textured, painterly feel of this piece - and the way the trees have been turned into ghost silhouettes. And the way it captures in a visceral way all you have gone through this month. Powerful and emotional, like all your work.

  4. Contradictions of March --- Art can be a great reflection of our own inner landscapes. I think you must be one of the masters at this. I see the musical notes you put in the sky, too. Nice touch!

  8. To me, the music paper in your image speaks to me of sadness and hope.

  9. Oh and I love the hint of music, like things to come peeking out - maybe a magnificent orchestra ready to reveal itself. I can only hope that April will be better for the both of us! Love to you sweet friend!

  12. And so the Beauty Art and Joy are within and come from the Light, Pain, and Darkness. I like so much the emotion of the image. March is a month that I oft find difficult-you think February will be "it" if you can only make it through, and then March is on the other side-long and tough.
I can only see the work Art. Perhaps I am not seeing beauty and joy in myself at present, and that's OK, it is where it is. I shall see them later.
    PS-love the new header.
May April be more beautiful, light, and less painful.

  13. Art is about expression. It is not always about beauty and joy, but it is always about what we are feeling. I think that comes through in your image - the light and dark, pain and contradictions are capture. Thank you for sharing in the Photo-Heart Connection this month.

  16. Your beautiful picture awakens many feelings and moods, the silhouettes of the trees are so gentle and fragile, yet they persist and grow. The red is subtile, deep shade, barely visible, but still enchanting the image bringing a bit contrast and depth ... Reminding the color of suffering, like you write.

  20. March really is that sort of month. Neither one thing nor the other, and your image describes it well.

  21. awesome and evocative.... it represents exactly how march has been over here in the netherlands..... those stark white trees with their tendrils reaching out to the sky make me shiver..... it has been so cold and bleak over here, i can feel it again just looking at your image. and that bit of red is very impressive. pain but also a bit of color, life in a bloodless scene. combined with the musical notes it also evokes hope and expectation. thanks for sharing this in the PHC

  22. What a powerful image!!!
It seems as though March was difficult for many... and I didn't escape its grip either.
Let us soak up the wonderfulness of it being over, and bask in the light of April.
