The Countdown Begins

I'm excited that in just one week I will be travelling home to the UK.  This visit will be all the more special because my brother (Chris) and his partner (Sara) will be tying the knot after twenty years together.

My husband always laughs at the fact that I pack a week in advance (he usually packs the day of) but it has to be done otherwise I'd forget my own head.  So I'm all packed and ready to go, just counting down the days.

The only aspect I don't like is the actual travel itself.  I find it extremely stressful and wish they'd invent some kind of time travel so that I could be there in an instant instead of two airports, two car rides and 11 hours of flights later.

  1. Wow! Twenty years together and are finally getting married! I wonder why they decided to make the jump now after so many years? Well, anyway, congrats to them! Love your photo. Even I, who am not a sci-fi fan, got the Dr. Who reference! ;)

    Have fun and safe travels!

  3. Very exciting ... I love travelling but not the modern travel methods ... A TARDIS like the one perchance alluded to above(?) would be most handy!

    1. A tardis sure would be handy . . . I hadn't consciously set out with the Dr Who reference in mind when I created this image but it did remind me of it when I saw it complete. Haven't watched Dr Who in years . . . think they must have changed the Dr a million times since then.

  4. Oh, I had to smile - I am a pre-packer as well - planning my wardrobe at least a week in advance. I hope the travel itself goes well. Enjoy this happy event and your time with family and friends.

  5. I too start packing early but I'm usually still making decisions and changes the day before. Have a great trip! And I really like your time travel image, too bad you can't get to UK through it.

    1. The last time I was home I had to attend a funeral so I'm really excited that a wedding is bringing the family together this time. Can't wait to see everyone and check out my brother's new pad. Just five more days and then I'm off, wooooo hoooo. Hope you and the girls are doing better.
