  2. Having a look around our living area right now, our artwork is a combo of things that were gifted or bought from very creative friends, some pieces of special artwork from our children's early years. Plus a few photos.
Having said that, we've just purchased some vintage surfing posters to go in a specific spot.
So, most of the art that we've added in the last 10 years or so is art that we're connected to in some way- through the artist - if that makes sense.

    1. Then we would generally only go online if we're looking for something specific

    2. It makes perfect sense. I only ever purchase art that I feel an emotional connection to in some way. Love that you have artwork from your children.

    2. n/a
    3. all over the board really.
    4. quite a mix.
    5. that also ranges. i am willing to pay more for art that really speaks to me.
    6. mostly i but art on impulse in the sense that i rarely specifically look for it. when i see something that i connect with, i consider a purchase.
    7. no, although most of what i have purchased would be considered small in size.
    8. both.
    9. again, all over the place. some of the art i have bought is nature/organic/vintage in color palette, some is quite bright, and many are metallic in color (and often material)
    10. these are great questions :-)

  4. Hi Kathryn --

In a nutshell, most of our "art" are a few photos I have taken that I had enlarged and framed. Others are a hodge-podge of vintage items I've found at thrifts. I don't believe I've ever purchased any art online. Hope this helps.

  7. I have two pieces of art I purchased in person. One in Market Square, Savannah, Georgia by Alex Baptiste and the other in Hot Springs, Arkansas. My plan was to documents vacations with art. Money got in my way.

There is no specific color that calls me. It has to be the painting as a whole.

I never buy as gifts since I can not know someone's heart that well. I have a mixed batch here. If I need a space filled I usually just throw something together myself.

I do like this piece above. I love the color, the texture.
