I like the connection between the leaves and the pages of stories - each so prolific and yet subject to the seasons. Thank you for participating in the tanka prompt on Real Toads.
Thanks Kerry, its been fun to reignite my love of poetry and try and learn something along the way.
as long as we are making more memories along the way and not letting them just be the way things used to be....we have some very old leaves in some pages at my parents house...
I love the idea of leaves holding memories, like stories on the page ~ Lovely to see you trying out new poetry forms Kathryn ~ Happy weekend ~
Thanks Grace, its a learning curve but a fun one . . . and I'm so inspired by all you guys.
The autumn season always makes me reflective too. This is just lovely.
Thank you, it has a way of doing that doesn't it. Think it comes with the changing of seasons . . . always a good time for reflection.
i like this.. i'm love with autumn though, and memories.
Autumn is my favorite time of year too.
Your words and this image blend so well. And both are filled with beauty.
maybe entirely fiction, even the true stories. or maybe true, even the fiction?
I like it, fiction or truth . . .
This is exquisite...the connection in the tree to the story and deep into the root of how things used to be...very effective layering here, Kathryn. I love the image as well. :)
Thanks Hannah, thanks for seeing the layering. This was about life and memories, trees and leaves, books and pages and the connectedness of them all.
Our life (tree) ....with its many leaves (memories)
Leaves, pages, both turning, embroidering and holding ... sweet collection. Love it. And the pic.(BTW, I got your wing-ed print today. Thank you! I put a status and link to your work on Facebook and will attach it to my blog soon.)
Be it leaf or page they hold stories of what used to be...beautiful
Thanks Susie, I liked the correlation between trees and books.
The image of leaves of autumn and memories is a very strong one. ... really lovely
Lovely metaphor of leaves, books, and memories ... an autumn reflection.
I love the leaves as pages!
"of the way things used to be" makes me sigh. enjoyed.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
What a gorgeous bit of early autumn - such lush goldenness.
This was an image from last year . . . still waiting for our leaves to turn but the image seemed to go with the words.
Loving the orange -- our leaves haven't even started to turn yet. Beautiful verse too Kathryn. xo
Gorgeous photo. It's still very hot where I live, but I sure enjoy the predictions of autumn. Love your words as well.
Those are my kind of leaves!Beautiful :D
Well... the photo takes my breath away - and the words are a great accompaniment. Collecting, Holding... and we can never go back. Must move forward, which in this case, means they must fall to regenerate... :)
