We've had a few rainy days this past week which have lent themselves to curling up on the sofa with a book and a blanket.
I'm currently reading Poem Crazy by Susan G Wooldridge, have any of you read it?
I've been topping up the bird feeders and there's been quite a buzz of activity lately.
Sunflower seeds are a particular favorite . . . . .
. . . . . as are the peanuts I have out.
Mrs Cardinal has been putting in quite a few appearances too.
I remember seeing a cardinal for the first time in Connecticut, such a pretty sight, especially against the white snow.
This is the first time I've put peanuts out and I'm amazed at how long they last. Seems the birds love them too so I'll definitely be restocking.
The red bellied and downy woodpeckers are frequent visitors and love suet. Unfortunately they have been harder to photograph because the suet is situated by a window with lots of reflections.
Hope you're all having a great week and aren't too stressed out by the pending holidays.
LOVE the Birds, and the departure from art...NICE photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue :)
DeleteI always just love your bird photos! That first one, is so incredible, love the one in flight!!
ReplyDeleteLove the flapping wings. How lovely to be curled up on the lounge with a book & watching all the activity.
ReplyDeleteThanks Leanne. I love my spot on the couch where I can watch all the goings on.
DeleteLove the red Mohawk hairdo on Mrs. Cardinal - she is rocking that look :) (From my recent pigeon experience, I am even further amazed at your ability to capture birds so wonderfully!)
ReplyDeleteha. they are having a little party there....hmm maybe i need to do my mohawk up in red....smiles...
ReplyDeletehave not heard of the book, need to check it out...
Lovely and lively photographs....I love birdies :) thank you for sharing these...you made my day!
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Poem Crazy! Are you enjoying it? Opposite season (Summer) over here and the birds seem to be frenzied, emptying a 2Litre coke bottle feeder in a day. I havn't tried peanuts for the birds nor have I seen the feeders you put them in. Such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteOh! It's a cardinal? The little mohawk bird?
