  2. Just amazing. Don't know if I want to see those insects too close like that. Like you said, they both fascinate and freak me out.

    1. I can still remember the feeling when I saw it, kind of like when you drive past a bad accident and you want to look away but can't. At least with a camera lens in front of me I felt a bit distanced.

    1. I typically like mustaches but wouldn't want this one tickling me. I remember how freaked out I was when I took this shot.

    1. Thanks Mary, it was my first time seeing one and it completely freaked me out. Was surprised I got a halfway decent image because my hand was shaking so much.

  7. This is a very impressive and clear shot! I like the way you have structured your poem. The ending made me think of the bee's sting.

  8. This is a chilling horror in word and image! Well done and I like the way the poem closes in.

  9. I don't know the insect, and I am no where near understanding the words in the poem. But one thing is for sure, and that is intellectualizing nature makes it powerless. I guess that is your message. But it is also a good thing. Think of the diagnosis. If illnesses were not diagnosed, there were nothing to treat effectively.

That creature indeed looks scary. Explaining it to death is perhaps not a bad thing to do. *smile*

  17. What a close-up with words and camera! My kids brought home a book from the library with very close-up photos of bugs - they are terrifically scary in their detailed perfection (for their purpose).
