Seeds Of Doubt

ubiquitous words
pervasive thoughts
tap-tap-root
in apprehension

while seeds of doubt
wind blown
germinate
with weed like resiliency

kernels of fear
of uncertainty
cultivated
in disquiet turmoil

as propagation
of ambiguity
remain contingent
on elements of self

  1. ha. nice use of language in this...doubt is like a weed...it starts small and then begins to feed on us, spreading, tainting all we see and believe.....until we are uncertain of anything...

    1. It is interesting how those seeds of doubt can take hold and become overwhelming so quickly.

  2. It is so easy for those seeds of doubt to be planted. I think we have to take care of the 'seeds' when they are small so that they do not end up disabling our self esteem! I enjoyed the message in this poem.

  3. Perfect. I think. At least it is my experience that these are helpful only to a point. Dubito, ergo sum started a small intellectual revolution. But then we need Cogito, ergo sum ..... with a little bit of doubt so we won't stay isolated and scared.

  4. Seeds of doubt can do their devastating job, starting as tiny specks but growing then into something that stifles the self. Very well-expressed, Kathryn!

Pitiful that many fall by the wayside! Seeds of doubt will kill many of their initiative and bring sad consequences! Wonderful write Kathryn!

  10. Weeds of doubt - oh, don't we all suffer from that infestation. Strongly written with a propulsive force in the word patterns.

  11. You have written so well about the germination and explosive growth of doubt...At times I let weedy doubt dandelion my thoughts, but most of the time it can't take root. Great piece!!
