  1. hopefully he is a consciencious hunter and will use all that he hunts...and not just take a trophy...

  2. I have such mixed feelings about hunting. Looking at the way Native Americans used to hunt seems so different. They used every part of the animal for their existence and before taking their life, asked permission, expressed regret and then thanked the animal. Hunting as a sport hurts me.

    1. I can understand, I have mixed feelings too, especially as I love wildlife and will go out of my way to help an animal in trouble. That said my husband is a responsible hunter and we do eat the meat. It's not done as sport or for simply the fun of it. At least this way we know where some of meat has come from and that it has been killed humanely. He also donates meat to Hunters For The Homeless.

  3. One of my niece and her husband and daughters are hunters and they use every inch of the deer they hunt.
    Interesting processing of the photo.

  4. I share the mixed feelings on hunting.. personally i doubt that there are many that need to kill for food... but I do enjoy eating the meat of moose and deer. I have many friends hunting (with gun not bow and arrows) and how they talk about hunting make me quiver... :-)

    1. I can't listen to my husband talk about the kill or the process. Interestingly I've asked my husband not to kill moose . . . I love them too much and it would tip me over the edge.

  5. Oh this one makes me sad--but it is a beautifully done piece

  6. I'm not much into hunting although I have been once. Thankfully no deer in sight that morning... just wild hogs that chased me up a tree.

  7. I guess I am not in favor of hunting in our parts of the world where we do not need to hunt to survive. It seems useless bloodshed to me.
