North California: Part Three

What I loved most about our vacation was that it combined the best of two worlds . . . the beauty of the redwoods with my need to be by the sea.    There was something curious though, the sea didn't smell of the sea.  It really was the strangest thing.

I love birds so of course I had to hang out on the pier and spend some time photographing them.

One of my favorite moments from the trip though would have to be when my husband invited a homeless man to sit with us while he grilled some freshly caught salmon on the BBQ for him.  He was nervous and anxious when he first approached us but left with a couple of days of food all bagged up and with a smile on his face.  Random acts of kindness really make a huge difference and it's one of those memories that will stay with me for a long time.

Still playing catch up from being unplugged and away for a week but hope to be back into the swing of things by next week.

    1. My husband seems to have a unique knack for breaking down any boundaries. Where most people would look or shy away he starts a conversation. It's one of the things I love most about him, how accessible he makes himself to people.

  4. Well, it may not have smelled like the sea - but you certainly captured its "sea-ness". I love the beauty of the crashing waves or calm seas against those wonderful rock outcroppings. And the way the water has so many different personalities - in terms of color and energy.

    1. Thanks Brenda, I too love the different forms (personalities) that water seems to take. I'm drawn to it time and time again.

  8. Hello, beautiful you. Just stopped in to say hi and tell you how much I miss you. Blogging has become a non-thing in my life, but that just means I miss my blogging friends so much more. Wondering how you are, body, mind and soul. I would love to write you a letter. Are you still at the same address? Sending love and well wishes. xoxoxox J
